THE OPPORTUNITY


As the Development Manager at RMHC-SK you are an integral member that is responsible for leading and shaping the fundraising strategies. As a passionate leader with a talent for fundraising and community engagement, you play a pivotal role in launching and growing fundraising programs. With a focus on donor acquisition, you will foster meaningful relationships, secure major gifts and sponsorships and be a key ambassador at community events. KEY RESPONSBILILTIES
 

As the Development Manager you will work safely and collaboratively and are responsible for:

Donor Acquisition, Development & Stewardship:

  • Spearhead the execution of fundraising events including signature events, annual campaigns, and support for community and third-party initiatives to achieve strategic fundraising goals.
  • Innovate and implement new fundraising strategies to increase profitability, extend reach and enhance exposure.
  • Secure major gifts, event sponsorship and program sponsorship for Annual Campaigns and events.
  • Engage in direct communication and stewardship activities such as thank you cards, tax receipting, donor recognition, facility tours, creating impact reports, and consistent information updates.
  • Maintain donor records and associated activities, ensuring high accuracy in data entry and timely record-keeping of donor interactions and contributions.
  • Play a key role in supporting third-party fundraisers, ensuring alignment with RMHC-SK’s mission while maximizing revenue and donor engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant fundraising regulations and donor privacy laws.

Community Engagement:

  • Identify, engage and build relationships with new donors and community partners to expand fundraising initiatives and broaden the organization’s reach.
  • Strategically drive revenue growth through third-party events, actively seeking out new opportunities for further community involvement.
  • Represent RMHC-SK at fundraising events, strengthening partnerships and showcasing the impact of donor contributions.
  • Delivering compelling presentations to various community groups and stakeholders to share the organization’s mission, drive awareness and inspire support.

Communication:

  • Collaborates with the RMHC-SK team to create and execute communication strategies for all Annual campaigns and fundraising events.
  • Supports the team in managing RMHC-SK social media strategy, ensuring alignment with all RMHC Global Branding Guidelines and RMHC-SK Guiding Principles.
  • Responsible for fundraising and event planning for Southern Saskatchewan as well as working in collaboration with the Northern Saskatchewan Development Manager.

Event Management:

  • Plan and execute event coordination activities including logistics, sponsorships, marketing and in person support during the event.
  • Engage with the community to secure sponsorship opportunities for events and develop sponsorship packages.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

As the Development Manager you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years proven successful experience in the areas of fundraising, donor development and community engagement.
  • 3+ years experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Valid drivers license with the ability to work a varied schedule and travel as needed.
  • Strong understanding of the not-for-profit sector and the donor relations cycle.
  • Respectful and non-judgemental, caring and compassionate with an understanding of boundaries.
  • Ability to develop, influence and manage collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders/partners, interest groups and public.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills working in a diverse work environment with emphasis on communication with guests and employees.
  • Strong management, mentoring, delegation, planning and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated reputation for acting with a high level of integrity at all times.
  • Adept at making data-informed decisions; analytical, solutions-oriented, and can identify key trends, establish benchmarks, and provide credible analyses and business recommendations.
